Knowing what questions to ask your wedding photographer could be overwhelming! So I have gone ahead and did the work for you; in this video I answer the top 5 questions I get from wedding couples.
5 Questions To Ask Your Wedding Photographer
How many hours do we need a wedding photographer for?
This all depends on if you are having a morning or afternoon wedding. And which parts of the day is important for you to have captured?
Morning weddings: 4-6 hours – most morning weddings does not have a long reception with lots of dancing.
Afternoon weddings: 8-10 hours – This will allow enough time for all the formalities to be photographed; from decor to the dancing.
Do we have to do the engagement shoot?
YES!!!! This the best way to get comfortable in front of the camera. It is also a fun informal shoot; where you two can do something you enjoy doing like hiking, cycling or going for coffee.
You can also choose a location or two that suits you; if you like the mountains more than the beach – we will not go to the beach.

What do we do if we are camera shy?
This is no problem at all! I make sure to prepare you before your photoshoot/wedding on what you can expect. I give lots of guidance on how you should ‘pose’. But I also make sure that you are comfortable and that you enjoy this experience 🙂

How long will we have to wait for our photos?
For engagement shoots 4-6 weeks, previews are shared within the first few days after the shoot.
For weddings 8-12 weeks (mostly sooner). I also share a preview within 48 hours after your wedding day.
Will we get the RAW image files?
The answer you will get from most professional wedding photographers is, no. This is not to be mean in any way, we have a few reasons why we do not give out the raw files; the way we take the photos (we sometimes under expose for specific reasons), the editing process takes a lot of time.
The editing (post-production) is also a reason why you book a certain photographer, as the editing style plays a big role in what the end result will look like.
