So what is the secret to having flawless skin on your wedding day, so that you can be camera ready?
I recently had the privilege to work with Marisa from Sketch & M again on a styled session again. Follow this link if you missed the first session.
We drove out to the beautiful little town of Philadelphia on a Saturday morning to photograph the 2 beautiful models.
As a wedding photographer, I know how important a beautiful skin is for your wedding photos, even though your skin can be retouched in post processing – it is important the you feel confident and beautiful on your wedding day.
I asked Marisa to share a few tips so that you can be ready for your wedding photos.
A flawless skin is definitely a top priority for your wedding day. Here are some tips to ensure your skin looks its best:
1.Set up an appointment with your dermatologist or a reputable beauty salon. They can assess your complexion and put together a strategy to achieve your dream skin. Keep in mind that some treatments can take up to several months to get results.
2. Ensure you drink enough water leading up to the wedding. This will prevent your skin looking dull & dehydrated
3. Using a strobe or illuminating cream on the day is essential for that dewy, glowing look. This brightens the skin and adds a soft glow as your skin catches the light. Use this as a moisturiser or mix some into your foundation.
4. If you struggle with oiliness, rather select an oil control lotion as a moisturiser. This will offer the perfect matt base for oil control. Then just add some radiance with a powder highlighter on your cheek- & brow bone.
5. Your wedding day can be quite unforgiving on your foundation, therefore it is recommended to go for a foundation that offers slightly more coverage. It will make you feel more confident and relaxed while taking photos and interacting with you guests.
