When they talk about being at the right place at the right time; that is how Stewart and Karissa met – in front of a 7/11 in Thailand.
Their wedding day at De Uijlenes was a true celebration – most of Karissa’s family and friends travelled all the way from the USA.
How they knew ‘this was it’: “Stewart extended his stay in Thailand to stay with Karissa after her TEFL course had ended. I think we realised that this is the one when we knew we never wanted to say goodbye for good. After Stewart left Thailand, Karissa’s mom had bought her a flight to Cape Town(03/03/2015) the same date of the wedding! He later came to Chicago for a couple months, and then a few months later I moved to Cape Town where we now have a beautiful home and the most beautiful pup, Benji!”

Their proposal: “My family is very important to me, so after spending a Christmas here in Cape Town we decided to go back to Chicago for a Christmas with my family. We all celebrate at my cousins, and my brother had called everyone into the family room where Stewart was down on one knee asking me to marry him.”
As you can see above, their was a fire raging close by, but that did not stop this wedding from happening 🙂
