Wedding at Nooitgedacht Estate
“I knew he was the one when I heard him speak about his family. The worry and love in his voice for his loved-ones, the way he spoke about them, it made me realise that when he loves someone he loves them hard. I knew that day I wanted to be loved like that. I also got captured by his beautiful blue eyes and contagious laugh!”

Their proposal: “The proposal was before my brother’s wedding. Zac had come to the Netherlands with his family, it was their first time. We all sat down and discussed our future and how we would approach the move. They were nervous about letting their child move across the world on his own. My dad assured them that we live by a rule in this house which is: the day one of us goes hungry is the day we all go hungry. If we have something to eat and a roof over our heads then so does he. Then came the ring, the tears and the food!”
Tips for brides planning their wedding: “Start as early as you can, even with the silliest things like buying earrings. And get as much help as you can. Give everyone that’s willing to help some of the load.”
Most memorable moment during the planning process: “One thing that stood out most was Coba’s help. She showed me the timeline of a normal South African wedding and had a helpful list of service providers in the back of her wedding guide.”
